World Religion Day History

World Religion Day seeks to promote inter-faith understanding and harmony. This day aims to encourage believers of all faiths to acknowledge, understand, and accept the differences and similarities between the world's many religions. It serves to celebrate religious oneness and the idea that the world is connected by all religions' common, shared beliefs. This day typically consists of events, concerts, and dialogues aimed at peace and understanding.

World Religion Day was first proclaimed by the Baha'i faith in the US in 1950. It is observed annually on the third Sunday of January.
