Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards seek to recognize and honor the media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of the LGBTQ community and the issues that affect their lives. GLAAD Media Awards also recognize categories like theater, music, and journalism. The selection process involves four criteria: fair, accurate, and inclusive representation, boldness and originality, cultural impact, and overall quality. Results are certified by a review panel.

The GLAAD Media Awards were first held in 1990. They are observed annually in late March.
