Super Bowl HistorySuper Bowl is the final championship game of the National Football League season (NFL) in the U.S. The matchup for the game pits the winning team of the American Football Conference (AFC) versus the winning team of the National Football Conference (NFC). The idea of creating the Superbowl came about as a result of the merger agreement between the National Football League (NFL) and its then-rival, the American Football League (AFL). NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle is often credited with the conception of the idea. However, Kansas City Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt is said to have coined the term "Super Bowl" after watching his children play with a toy called a Super Ball. The first Super Bowl was held in February of 1967, where the Kansas City Chiefs faced the Green Bay Packers. Super Bowl 58 (LVIII) will take place Sunday, February 11th, 2024. The Kansas City Chiefs will go against the San Francisco 49ers for the second time in Super Bowl history. Super Bowl 58 will be held at the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, where more than 65,000 people are expected to attend. Facts about Super Bowl
